Experience hills, gorges and wetlands in Ylläs by mountain biking – throughout the year. The nightless nights in the midsummer, the autumn colors in the fall and the glowing snow in the winter with the northern lights during the night and versatile routes provide an unique biking experience in Ylläs.

The biking routes in the area are widespread and especially routes close to Äkäslompolo in the Pallas-Ylläs national park are well maintained and easy. The most popular of these is to top Kukastunturi. The experienced bikers can choose more challenging and adventurous routes such as Hangaskuru, Äkäskero and Aakenus Escape. Experience also a new, breathtaking route over the gorge of Kellostapuli.

For the friends of gravity the BikePark of Ylläs provides the longest tracks of Finland, a full service and an extensive view. Biking in the BikePark is fun and develops biking skills. Cafés in the wilderness provide food and refreshments – now also during the summer time. Check the opening hours of the cafés when planning your trip. Along the routes you find also many tipi-like huts, shelters with a sloped roof, toilets and fireplaces with woods.

An extra kick to your biking days you get from mountain biking guides and from guided mountain biking tours. In Äkäslompolo you can rent both electrical and eco-friendly mountain bikes and biking equipments, you find other personal services (among others doctors, masseurs, a pharmacy, a liquor store), you enjoy good food and nightlife and you live comfortably in a cozy Lapland Feeling Lodge.

By buying a map of the routes, you stay on trails in the best way and at the same time you support developing the routes.
